Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education “Laboratory on Artificial Intelligence in Albania and Kosovo – LAIA”

Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) is massively affecting the industries all around the world, especially in transportation, healthcare, marketing, finance, manufacturing, customer services etc., significantly improving the overall efficiency of the companies.

Considering the recent technology development, there are prominent features for the application of AI in Albania and the raising demand for education in AI. The LAIA project’s purpose is to develop and implement a master level course on Artificial Intelligence which will be introduced at Institutions of Higher Education – members of the consortium. LAIA aims to bring advanced educational opportunities to Albania and Kosovo in order to keep up with the emerging technologies and deeply utilize the research advancements in the field, to meet the acquis requirement and align with the EU internal market and research standards. With collaborative effort, LAIA project can increasingly improve people's quality of life, job opportunities and trigger system growth in Albania and Kosovo as a whole. LAIA’s general objective is the development and implementation of a master level course curriculum on Artificial Intelligence (AI), while the overall research goal of artificial intelligence is to create technology that allows computers and machines to work intelligently.

LAIA project is funded by the European Union for a three-year period 2023-2026 and it is being implemented in cooperation with 7 partners from Albania, Kosovo, Greece and Estonia.
