Adrian Civici is elected the new rector of the Mediterranean University of Albania

The Board of Administration of the Mediterranean University of Albania, pursuant to the statute of this institution appointed to the position of Rector of the Mediterranean University Prof. Dr, Adrian Civici.

Prof. Adrian Civici is Professor of Economic Sciences, author of several studies, lecturer and board leader and economic policy advisor. He has made several books in the field of economics and the functioning of markets

Adrian Civici is a doctor of economics awarded by ENSA, Montpellier (France, 2002) and a doctor of agrarian economics awarded by the Agricultural University of Tirana (Tirana, 1993). In 1995 he received the title "Associate Professor" and since 2011, holds the title "Professor" in economics. During his professional career he has worked in important positions as Head of the Department of Economy and Agrarian Policy (1992-1996), Dean of the Faculty of Agrarian Economics at the Agricultural University of Tirana (1996-2001); Executive Director of the Center for Rural Studies and Sustainable Development (1998-2005); Adviser to the Minister of Finance (2001-2002); Director of the Directorate of the National Strategy for Economic and Social Development of Albania (2002-2006); Advisor for the Kosovo Development Plan at the Government of Kosovo (2006-2007);

Adrian Civici has been and is a member of several international organizations and European universities: member of the Governing Board of EUROMONTA (European Organization for the Development of Mountain Areas based in Brussels); member of the Central Assembly of RONGEAD (Specialized Institute for International Trade Relations based in Lyon, France); member of the Scientific Council of RAFAC (Mediterranean Network for Sustainable Development); Coordinator of the Balkan Network for Sustainable Development based in Paris; Associate Lecturer at the University of Lyon (ISARA), at CIHEAM - IAM Montpellier, University of Thessaly, Greece, Valencia University, Spain, IAM Bari, Italy. His areas of expertise mainly affect agrarian and trade policies for transition economies, the process of transformation and structural reorganization of the Albanian economy, economic theories and development models, policies and strategies of international institutions, financial markets, monetary policies and banks, etc. He is the author of several books at home and abroad, over 250 scientific and divulgative articles in the university press and various journals, studies and other publications at home and abroad, as well as participant in many national and international seminars and conferences in the field of economy, finance, economic and social development, etc.
