The mission of the Mediterranean University of Albania is to prepare outstanding specialists and leaders for the public, private, and non-profit sectors, and to generate ideas that provide responses and solutions to current challenges and the future development perspectives of the country and the region.

The philosophy of the Mediterranean University of Albania is centered on building a community of learning and creation in which every member is respected, valued, and trusted, and where high expectations are cultivated for oneself and others through inspiration, achievement, and excellence. The above-mentioned mission has been conceived in full harmony with the general mission of higher education in the Republic of Albania, as expressed in Article 2, point c of Law No. 80/2015, “On Higher Education and Scientific Research in Higher Education Institutions in the Republic of Albania,” aligned with European standards, the Bologna Charter, as well as with the specific features and innovations that this institution aims to introduce in our country and beyond.

In order to fulfill its mission and role as a higher education institution serving society and the community in which it operates, MUA will carry out a wide range of activities in the field of teaching, enhancing the quality and standards of the study programs offered, including professional training programs, as well as continuing professional development activities in professions regulated by law in the Republic of Albania. These activities will be addressed to students, academic staff, and employees in the public and private sectors at national and regional levels.

In support of the “Institutional Development Strategy 2025–2032,” the Mediterranean University of Albania, in addition to traditional study cycle programs, will also develop short professional programs and market-oriented certifications that address the emerging needs of the digital and green economy.

These programs enhance employability and ensure flexibility in lifelong learning. Program integration and interdisciplinary linkage represent one of the fundamental pillars of the academic model of the Mediterranean University of Albania. This model is based on the development of an integrated and coherent curricular architecture, aiming to overcome the fragmentation of knowledge and to provide students with a clear and continuous academic pathway, opening opportunities for diverse professional achievements.

To achieve this, the Mediterranean University of Albania implements a dual integration strategy, operating both vertically and horizontally, in full harmony with the principles of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
