Transfers

Transfers from a public or private HEI to UMSH are carried out within the same study cycle, in identical or similar study programs of the first cycle, second cycle, integrated second cycle, or professional programs. The study programs from which the student requests to transfer must be licensed and accredited.

Candidates applying for study transfers must meet the grade point average requirement defined by the Council of Ministers’ decision for the respective academic year.

In cases of transfer of studies from within or outside the country, in intermediate years of study programs within the same cycle, students must meet the grade point average requirement defined by the relevant Council of Ministers’ decision of the academic year in which the student was admitted to the higher education institution, starting from the academic year 2016–2017 onwards.

Applications for transfers during the academic year are not accepted.

Candidates applying for study transfers or a second study program must meet the criteria set by higher education institutions for the study programs to which they apply.

The candidate must not be enrolled in another study program. Applications for study transfer may be made from an identical or similar study program of the same cycle and type, followed by the candidate at licensed and accredited public or private higher education institutions, domestic or foreign.

Study transfers cannot be made between different levels of study cycles or within the Albanian Qualifications Framework. In this context, transfers cannot be made from two-year professional study programs to first-cycle “Bachelor” programs or to integrated second-cycle “Master of Science” programs.
