ADRION FUTURE 4.0 PROJECT - The second meeting with focus groups and partners takes place at the Mediterranean University
Today, at the premises of the Mediterranean University of Albania, was held the second meeting of the Focus Group under "ADRION Future 4.0 project". This activity was attended by 20 businesses which operate in this field, professors of the Mediterranean University of Albania, professors of University of Durres and University of Vlora, who have naval engineering and shipping, as part of the curricula. The meeting was moderated by Nevila Xhindi, Head of the Project Office, at Mediterranean University of Albania. The Rector of this university, the Academician, Prof. Gudar Beqiraj, welcomed this event by evaluating the project focusing on youth employment through the support of regional and national institutions of participating countries such as Italy, Croatia, Greece and Albania in order to understand the impact of technological mega-trends in the classical industries. Specifically, the field of study of this project involves the shipping industry and intends to help in designing a suitable industry model 4.0 with the application of some successful schemes. It is also expected that this model contributes to the implementation of Local Action Plans in the shipping industry (and its complementary services) at national and regional level through modernization of technology and in cooperation with companies and stakeholders. Based on this point of view, we have considered our institution as one of the stakeholders to contribute to the development of industry branches in the country and to anticipate the preparation of future employers with the new skills and knowledge required by Industry 4.0. Therefore, we are participants in this project.
The manager of this project for the Mediterranean Center, Mrs. Sonila Nikolla presented in more details the objectives and partnership of this project. Following the meeting, Mrs. Manjola Kapedani presented the Regional Strategy created under the Future 4.0 project. The representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the same time partner in this project, presented the best practices from nautical sector companies in Albania. At the meeting, the emphasis was also on the definition of an action plan for the ongoing implementation of the project and the extension of meetings with more representatives of policy-making and decision-making. The ADRION Future 4.0 project is a valuable platform to promote the dialogue with key stakeholders by creating more opportunities for collaboration between the university, the innovative industries and the business.
