The Mediterranean University of Albania has signed cooperation agreements with two Romanian universities




The President of the Mediterranean University, Academician Prof. Dr. Anastas Angjeli, welcomed a Romanian delegation that included H.E. Octavian ?erban, Ambassador of Romania to Albania; Mr. Cristian Cuta?, Counselor of the Romanian Embassy in Albania and Head of the Office for Trade and Economic Promotion; Prof. Dr. Costin Lianu, representative of the “Spiru Haret” University in Bucharest; Prof. Dr. Irina R?dulescu, representative of the Petroleum-Gas University in Ploie?ti; and Mr. Florian Ionescu, professor and businessman.
During the meeting, discussions centered on the importance of academic agreements and cooperation in improving the quality of education in Albania. They also addressed how Albania could benefit from Romania’s experience during its EU pre-accession process and use it for its development. Prof. Dr. Angjeli expressed gratitude to the attendees, emphasizing the Mediterranean University’s readiness to create and implement bilateral and multilateral projects. He also highlighted intentions to deepen collaboration through joint projects and academic and scientific publications with Romanian partners.
Ambassador ?erban reaffirmed his commitment to serving as a bridge between the academic and scientific institutions of Romania and Albania, describing the agreements as an important step in strengthening the historical and cultural ties between the two countries.
The agreements reflect the Mediterranean University’s dedication to improving the quality of its academic system and actively participating in significant local and international projects. They include multidimensional academic and scientific cooperation, as well as the creation of a Digital & Innovation Hub within the university.
The meeting concluded with a signing ceremony, where the Rector of the Mediterranean University, Prof. Dr. Adrian Civici, and representatives from the Romanian universities formally signed the agreements.
