Internationalization

In the framework of the activities of the "Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain just for Peace" Chair, at the Mediterranean University of Albania, was held an open lecture with Professor Ermir Gjinishi.

The director of the chair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arben Cici, spoke about the importance of establishing this center at UMSh, and invited Professor Gjinishi to talk about his special experience, as a former student of Arab Language, Literature and Theology at the University of Tripoli, Libya, and his point of view on the history and the rich culture of the Mediterranean countries and peoples.

Professor Gjinishi is a lecturer at the Institute of European Studies of the University of Tirana. He is specialized in religious issues, security, international relations and terrorism and has been invited as a lecturer in various conferences, in Albania and abroad. He has published studies and scientific articles on these important issues.

During his lecture, Professor Gjinishi was focused on the importance of knowing the history of the Mediterranean, that of the Arab world and the Arab language and culture, as well as its influence on the northern shores of the Mediterranean until the center of Europe.

The historical contacts and relations between Albanians and Arab countries, at different times, serve us to better know our differencies and similarities and to understand how important is the education of the culture of peace and its foundation at the local, regional and global level, emphasized the Professor Gjinishi during his speech.

The audience followed with a great interest the open lecture and professors and students present there asked a lot of questions and made many comments.
