The Ambassador of Palestine in Albania and the day of Arab culture at the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Center for Just Peace at the Mediterranean University of Albania.

The Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Chair for the Just Peace at the Mediterranean University of Albania organized a special activity for celebrating UNESCO's World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development (May 21). This is the very first time of organizing the day of Arab culture in MUA.

In this occasion, the special guest was the Ambassador of the State of Palestine H.E. Hana Shawa, who also held an open lecture on the history of Palestine, the first celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba at the UN Headquarters in New York and the importance of establishing a just peace in that country and throughout the Mediterranean region.

Ambassador Shawa described the role of culture and cultural and university exchanges between nations as an important instrument for establishing bridges and strong connections between peoples to achieve a just and long-term peace.

Ambassador Shawa was welcome at the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Chair for Just Peace at UMSH, by the Rector of UMA, Professor Adrian Civici, the Director of the Chair, Professor Arben Cici and by the board member, Professor Elona Shahini.

An extraordinary exhibition of traditional clothes and works of Palestine was organized in the lobby of the University, as well as delicious dishes prepared for this occasion by the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Albania.

Celebrating the day of Arabic culture and language on this important world day, will become a tradition of the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Chair for Just Peace at UMSH in its mission to promote and protect cultural diversity, to encourage the new generations further understanding that cultures and civilizations can contribute to a just peace and sustainable development at local, regional and global levels.
