Day of culture, language and Arabic tradition at the Mediterranean University of Albania.






















The celebration of May 21 has become now a tradition at the Mediterranean University of Albania. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Chair for Just Peace at MUA together with the Embassies of Arab countries in Tirana organized for the second year the day of culture, language and Arabic tradition within the framework of UNESCO-s World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.
The event was opened by the Director of the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Chair for Just Peace at the Mediterranean University of Albania, Professor Arben Cici, who underlined the role and dedication of Mr. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain, may he rest in peace, in the process of social reconciliation through cultural diversity and the request for just peace, security and development, as the main way to fulfill the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Just and Sustainable Peace.
Through the important message of the Chairman of the Board of the Chair Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Foundation for Just Peace and the President of the Mediterranean University of Albania, Academic Anastas Angjelit, was highlighted the important role of cultural diversity as a precious asset and unique value for every society, especially in today's times. Evaluating the activity of the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Chair for Just Peace at UMSh and its mission, following the contribution of Mr. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain, may he rest in peace, Academic Anastas Angjeli emphasized that through respect for cultural diversity, through dialogue and cooperation, we can contribute to the peace and development of society and life.
In his welcoming speech, the Rector of the Mediterranean University of Albania, Academic Adrian Civici, emphasized the importance of this activity within a series of comprehensive intercultural activities of the Mediterranean University, especially on the special day of cultural diversity and dialogue, as an important tool to prevent the large number of conflicts today.
In his speech, Mr. Mohamed Heider, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, thanked the Mediterranean University and the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Chair for Just Peace for this celebration tradition in MUA and the participation of many young people in that event. Albania is the country that represents on the best way, the meaning of this day, underlined the Ambassador.
The Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Artemis Malo, who is also a lecturer at MUA, expressed the support and promotion of the institution she represents for intercultural activities as well as the important position of Albania in international forums where peace and its crucial importance are discussed today.
The former foreign minister and writer Besnik Muastafaj, through his political experience, underlined the importance of cultural cooperation and diversity as well as the role that Albania has and should play in the Mediterranean basin through its even more dynamic commitment, showing its special interreligious coexistence and harmony.
Professor and writer, Mr. Ylljet Alicka, through his impressions from the experience of the first translation of his book into Arabic, and participation in the Book Fair in Cairo, emphasized that through culture and the promotion of cultural diversity, societies and peoples come closer and contribute to their social and economic development as well.
At the end of the conference, all the guests visited the Arab culinary, culture, tourism and cultural heritage fair prepared by the Embassies of Arab countries in Albania, in the lobby of MUA.
This extraordinary experience, which has already become a tradition of the Mediterranean University of Albania, aims to protect and promote cultural diversity, this valuable social asset for the benefit of encouraging young people towards the right understanding and acceptance of other cultures and heritages, as the only way and contribution to just peace and sustainable development at the local, regional and global level.
