Mediterranean University of Albania, Abdulaziz Saud Albatain Chair for Arabic Language and Culture celebrated December 18th, the World Arabic Language Day. Representatives of MUA were an important part of the activity organized by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Albania and their contribution stood out both in participation and in the speech of the Director of the Chair Assoc. Prof.Dr. Arben Cici.

The conference, which also addressed the position of the Arabic language in the face of AI, was attended by personalities and academics in the fields of history, linguistics, and translation from Albania and Arab countries. The heads of diplomatic missions of Arab countries in Albania honored this event with their participation.

In his speech, the Director of the Abdulaziz Saud Albatain Center for Arabic Language and Culture, Professor Arben Cici, spoke about the importance of this historical date, highlighting the importance of preserving and spreading the Arabic language and the irreplaceable role of the prominent personality, academic, thinker and poet from the State of Kuwait, the great philanthropist, highly appreciated by the UN, UNESCO, and other organizations as well as renowned universities, Mr. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain.

Thanks to his dedication and desire to preserve and spread the Arabic language and culture, the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Center for “Arabic Language and Culture” has been established at the Mediterranean University of Albania for 2 years, noted Professor Cici, adding that the interest and attention of students and lecturers towards the Arabic language and culture has increased significantly.

Speaking about the chair’s activity, Professor Cici emphasized that this chair at MUA is serving as a bridge to help spread Arabic culture, history and tradition among the university community and beyond. By fostering intercultural dialogue, this chair aims to create an open and respectful platform for the exchange of ideas, practices and knowledge that contribute to greater understanding between different cultures.

“The Arabic language, as one of the oldest, richest and most widely spoken languages ??in the world, remains the main tool for exploring this rich cultural heritage. With special emphasis on the importance of its preservation and dissemination, we help students and scholars understand its historical, social and artistic connections in a global context. Our chair aims to provide activities and opportunities that help develop language skills and highlight the contributions of Arab culture to history, art, philosophy, science and traditions, making this knowledge accessible to all, emphasized in his speech Professor Arben Cici.

At the end of the activity, the Director of the Abdulaziz Saud Albatain Center for Arabic Language and Culture, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Arben Cici was awarded with a special price for “his contribution to the service of the Arabic language and strengthening its position between originality and innovative spirit.”

This activity was attended by members of the Committee of Abdulaziz Saud Albatain Chair for Arabic Language and Culture, students of the Arabic language course, and other students and lecturers from MUA.
